14U Smith Holds Their Own In Sin City

Feb '25 - Las Vegas, NV - Avengers 14U- Smith stood tall in their first national event at the 2025 AFA Valentines Day National Qualifier. Ending pool play 2-1 against some of the top programs across the country, the squad secured their spot in the gold bracket ending #14 overall out of 40 teams.

Playing three bracket games on Sunday, the highlight came against Sask Swagger club out of Canada.  Down 8 runs with 2 outs as time has expired, the girls never gave up, never stopped believing, and they came all the way back to hit a walk off opposite field single with bases loaded to take the victory.

The hurlers had an outstanding weekend for their first travel tournament, hitting .427 as a team with 18 extra bases and 21 two-out RBI. The pitching staff held there own with a combined 23 strikeouts.

These athletes have definitely arrived and the best is yet to come.
